Ogun Unveils Plan for ₦1bn AI-Driven Digital Classroom at Remo Secondary School

 

The Ogun State Government has announced plans to deliver a 900-capacity, Artificial Intelligence-enabled digital learning complex at Remo Secondary School, Sagamu, in a move aimed at strengthening technology-based education across the state.


Governor Dapo Abiodun disclosed activities marking the institution’s 80th anniversary, noting that the proposed facility represents a deliberate investment in modern learning infrastructure designed to prepare students for a rapidly evolving, knowledge-driven global economy.

The Mokopane Regional Court in South Africa has sentenced a 25-year-old woman, Yvonne Maja to an effective 18 years’ direct imprisonment after convicting her of attempted m8rder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. 

Maja was sentenced on Monday, 09 February 2026, following her conviction on 01 December 2025. 

She received 18 years’ direct imprisonment for attempted m8rder (count one) and two years’ direct imprisonment for assault GBH (count two), to run concurrently.

US to deport Invictus Obi and 17 more Nigerians on criminal list


 The United States Department of Homeland Security has announced plans to deport additional 18 Nigerians listed on its “worst-of-the-worst” criminal register. 

The development comes barely one week after 79 Nigerians convicted of various offences were marked for deportation.

According to the statement published on DHS website on Monday, February 9, 2026, 18 Nigerians were convicted for wire fraud, child solicitation, mail fraud and identity theft.

“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement," the statement read.
