Former Nigerian deputy senate president Ike Ekweremadu, along with his wife Beatrice and their doctor Dr. Obinna Obeta, that were caught planning to illegally obtain a kidney from a young man last year, to give to their daughter, Sonia, who has kidney problem, have now been sentenced to years in jail.
Ike Ekweremadu was today May 5th 2023 given 9 years, 8month in jail, their Doctor received 10 years, and Beatrice, Ekweremadu's wife got 4 and a half years. Now, What a lot of people are not aware of his, the Ekweremadus case, according to the bbc is the first ever case under this particular organ trafficking law of the united kingdom called the modern slavery act
