This is the most important news in Nigeria today but for some reason which i don't understand it is not being reported enough.
A dangerous substance called ethylene oxide, which can cause Cancer has been detected in Indomie’s “special chicken” flavour noodles by health authorities in Malaysia and Taiwan.
Because of this, The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), here in Nigeria has said that it would commence the random sampling of Indomie noodles, including the seasoning from the production factories and the stores from Tuesday, march 2nd 2023.
According to a report by Punch newspaper, NAFDAC also said the importation of Indomie noodles into Nigeria had been banned for many years and the products were on the prohibition list. Meaning it is not supposed to even be in the market.
