Future Nigerian elections will go better- Buhari

The president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, expressed satisfaction with the way the general elections in 2023 were conducted, noting that they were largely peaceful and that lessons were learned that would improve future elections.

When speaking to his colleagues at the Commonwealth Leaders Summit on Saturday, May 6, the President made this statement, according to a statement published by his media adviser, Femi Adesina.

The declaration said;

 "These elections featured a tremendous voter participation, demonstrating the maturation of Nigeria's democracy. We have shown that a government can be elected peacefully and fairly, despite certain areas of violence.

"We aspire to perform even better going future after learning from our mistakes. On the basis of this, I am happy to remark that we have advanced our democracy with peaceful, transparent, and reliable results. Despite the fact that there are still difficulties, we are dedicated to promoting increased engagement of all Nigerians, especially those abroad, in the democratic process.
