Not even $1bn could make me join politics – Bishy Oyedepo

 

The Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, David Oyedepo, has said no amount of money, including one billion dollars, could persuade him to venture into partisan politics.

Oyedepo made the statement while addressing worshippers during the impartation service at the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025. The cleric used the occasion to urge church members to remain focused on their divine assignments rather than pursuing paths outside their calling.

Corruption is so deep in Nigeria that if laws were applied 80 percent of the people you see walking the street freely will be in jail - ICPC

 

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has warned that Nigeria’s corruption crisis is so deeply entrenched that strict enforcement of existing laws could send the majority of citizens to prison. The warning was issued by the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner for Kaduna State, Sakaba Ishaku, at a capacity-building workshop on local government accountability organised on Wednesday by the Kaduna State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

I wanted to escape to US - Stowaway says after being nabbed at Ilorin Airport


 A suspected stowaway identified as Segun Martins was arrested on Wednesday, December 10, at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport in Ilorin after attempting to hide beneath an Overland aircraft preparing for takeoff. The incident occurred at about 3:02 p.m., when the suspect reportedly gained unauthorized access to the foot of the aircraft and tried to conceal himself between the tyres.

Harmony Garden and Estate Development Limited has raised an alarm over an alleged multimillion-naira fraud involving one of its former staff members known as Fibiyisola Mustapha.

In an official statement issued by the company’s management, the firm disclosed that Fibiyisola Mustapha, whose photograph and phone number were earlier published has been disengaged from the organization and no longer represents the company in any capacity, either as staff or consultant.

American Jammie Booker defeated Great Britain's Andrea Thompson to victory at the Official Strongman Games World Championships 2025 event in Arlington, Texas , over the weekend.

After her win, controversy emerged about Booker's gender, leading the Official Strongman Games to release a statement and officially disqualify Booker, who they say has been dodging their calls.

31-year-old man commits su!cide by jumping into domestic well in Kwara

 

A 31-year-old man identified as Abdullateef has committed su!cide by jumping into a domestic well in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, November 23, 2025 when residents were still asleep. 

The spokesperson of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, who confirmed the incident in a statement said the man had previously attempted to jump into the well but was unsuccessful.
